Notes that land on the exact frame.
Shutter is a review tool for directors, editors and colorists. Park on a frame, pin it, box it or draw on it, then hand your editor a marker list that drops straight into Resolve.

Canopy lights are clipping. Bring them down about a stop.
- 2
Trim the left edge so the pump sits on the third.

Banding in the fog along this roofline. Add grain before the grade.
From playback to a marker list in four moves.

01
Open the clip
Drop in an MP4, MOV, WebM or a still. Shutter plays it from your drive, so there's no upload to wait for, whatever the file size.
-
02
Park on the frame
Step with ← and →, jump a second with Shift. Timecode reads HH:MM:SS:FF from whatever start TC your edit uses.
-
03
Mark it
Press M, then drop a pin, drag a box or draw the line you mean. Tag the note Color, Framing, Focus, VFX or Edit so the right person picks it up.
-
04
Hand it off
Export a frame grab with your marks burned in, a CSV for whoever keeps the spreadsheet, or an EDL of timeline markers for Resolve.
Your footage never leaves your computer.
Shutter reads the file in your browser and plays it from there. We never receive a frame. Sign-in runs through Clerk. Your notes are saved in this browser and only reach our server when you send a review to a friend.
The trade-off: notes don't follow you to another computer yet. Export the .json and import it on the other machine.
